Keith grew up across the street from his grandparents and he would spend hours watching his grandfather paint. His grandfather died when Keith was only 9 and Keith did not paint his first painting until high school art class with the encouragement of Mrs. Bolton. He starred on his High School baseball and football teams therefore painting was not a priority. Actually as a youngster, he would beat up kids who would rather stay in the house and paint rather than play sports. Then Keith grew up, quit beating kids up, went to college, built an engineering career, took up golf; therefore painting still did not fit in. Well, now that all those other distraction are out of the way; he has now become the boy that he used to beat up. He prefers to study art and paint over playing golf; of course his alter ego, Sir Fixalot does take priority. Since studying with Becky Parks, he has learned more about how to use the color wheel and about the values of color. Becky also introduced Keith to Nicola Simbari who has become his favorite artist and the one he wants to emulate. He is intrigued by the way Mr. Simbari uses value and color to show emotion in his women at the beach. Keith has redeveloped his love for the beach from Mr. Simbari and has decided that people near the water will be the theme of his future works. He is in the ongoing process of accumulating photographs of interesting people which he can use in his paintings. Some of his most recent works are shown below followed by a current work in progress.
